About Me
- Favorite Medium: paintings
- Statement: After studying Chinese Brush Painting, I began to experiment with painting specific subjects instead of generic form is done in Chinese brush painting. I found that the techniques used in Chinese brush painting did not work. I began experimenting with heavier archival papers using transparent water colors, still using Chinese brushes. I developed a method of layering colors which allowed me to get deeper colors, details and dimension, not usually seen in watercolor paintings. I challenge myself to capture the inmate quality and aliveness of the subject which caught my attention. I use a photo as a guide and reminder only. I go directly with the brush, freely enlarging the image. I have a studio/gallery, showing by appointment only.
