Statement: Painting is my form of expression about life around me, embracing both the physical and psychological. I am a multi-media artist and paint in a post-modernist style.. I am a mother of 5 children and much of my early painting was inspired by my strong feelings for the need to keep a cohesive family unit - which started my ongoing theme ""Save the Family"". Having lived in England, Canada, Brazil and now, in Florida in the United States I have a wide variety of subjects to paint. I aim to make you think, question and perhaps, discover something meaningful through my paintings. Experimenting with the endless number of materials available to use is challenging. Ideas are nonstop. Creativity continues into the sleeping hours. Painting is my way of describing our present day culture in all its many forms. My love is abstraction and impressionism, through which I try to create the intangible. By using these forms of expression, I feel I best address my subject. Whether I choose to paint things out of proportion, or to use color, to portray feelings that stimulate interest, I aim high and stretch to achieve the unknown. Painting is a constant learning process.
