Favorite Medium: paintings
Statement: I enjoy creating smaller scale paintings to capture and convey the majestic grandeur of nature. To compress the power of a scene and release it using vigorous yet controlled brush strokes and accurate depictions of light, invites the viewer to experience, at an intimate size, the power and mystery of nature.The medium I prefer to work in is Gouache which is an opaque watercolor. This medium allows me to produce a wide variety of brush effects which can create fine detail to subtle masses of color that suggest larger areas such as stands of trees or fields.Other forms of art that I produce are computer-generated landscapes and aviation art.My influences have been from great landscape artists such as Albert Bierstadt, Edwin Church and Thomas Hill.
