Statement: Man of Steel, James Moore, wields fire and metal to create his unique one of a kind steel sculptures. Through a carefully crafted process of welding and forging steel, and applied geometry Mr. Moore's work represents both a refined, classical style as well as a modern minimalist approach. These two ideas define two distinct bodies of work the artist is currently engaged in, using as subject, the human figure. Moore's classical work uses layered molten metal that is literally sculpted into fully realized figures with texture and muscle. The second body of work uses an approach of spare clean lines resulting in bold geometric figures that express movement and attitude.Through the last 25 years of sculpting, Moore has never forgotten his roots in rural Caruthers, a small agricultural town in central California. His exposure to working the land gave Moore a strong work ethic and an endless fascination with the idea of human possibility. Mr Moore's desire and drive eventually led him to make the commitment of a lifetime, creating a monument-sized sculpture for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. It was the jumping off point which lead him to create his signature sculptures that convey the compelling forces of human possibility and joy.James Moore's sculptures can be found in private and corporate collections around the world.
