About Me
- Favorite Medium: art photography
- Statement: About Me and My WorkMe! I became interested in photography as a child when I persuaded my mother to allow me to use the family Brownie 620 camera.During my young and middle adult life I continued to improve my skills for my personal satisfaction and, when required, by my profession in advertising and marketing. In recent years, my wife Deanna and I have made many trips to Hawaii and elsewhere around the world. The resultant thousands of wonderful images that have been amassed, along with the urging of friends and business associates, inspired me to market my work professionally and share a few of the best with you.As you will soon conclude, I love photographing sunsets. My friends tell me it is because I am too lazy to get up for sunrise. But, the truth is that the wonderful tones and hues of sunset make me feel as if the sun is wrapping us in a blanket to keep warm and safe until it returns the next morning. My Work! While film is a wonderful medium that has inspired many great photographers to produce work that I could never hope to equal, the evolution to digital media makes possible the total hands-on control over the entire process that I always believed was essential to the creative effort. The vast majority of my photography presented here and on my website is digital and the remaining small percentage is film that has been painstakingly transferred to digital. What makes the look of my work unique is the image system used to produce the final prints. It is a $300,000 Kodak image printer that uses photographic paper, but develops the image with a series of three LEDÂ’s to excite the development, pixel by pixel, creating a true photographic look from a digital image. The special metallic based paper I have selected creates an image that has more luster, depth and reflectivity than normal photographic paper. The prints have a dark life (kept away from direct light) of 200 years, and a normal room light life expectancy of 100 years.I am honored to present my work and sincerely hope you will share in the excitement I have attempted to convey in still images.
