Q. Does ARTWORK ON VIEW have any art education function above and beyond the education associated with members of the public meeting and communicating with contemporary visual artists?
A. Yes, an important one. A major problem of communication between the visual arts community and members of the public is the often pedantic language of art critics which discourages the public from learning more about the visual arts. To deal with this problem AOV is planning art education video clips which will appear on the website and provide information on art subjects. These video clips are aimed at providing information on the web vis-à-vis the visual arts in inviting, encouraging and unthreatening language.

Q. I maintain my own website to promote my work. How will exhibition on the AOV website help me?
A. The AOV website has a much greater frequency of use than individual artist’s websites which customarily experience less than five visitors each day. Consequently, your visibility as a serious artist will be immeasurably enhanced and your artwork, if accepted by AOV, will be exposed to a much larger audience than is possible on your own website. Additionally, the AOV website will link to your website further increasing your artwork’s exposure to the public.
